It’s been a long time since I updated anything here. I am actually working on my portfolio site which will include a blog, in place of this one….but that’s a few weeks away. I’m working on a few other websites, one for school and two other artists. A photographer and a fine artist/designer which I’m totally stoked about. Also, something for myself, I had to put my portfolios together for portfolio class along with an identity.
Here is the front and back of my business card…
I also created a leave-behind that I can leave with companies and other designers that I meet with. I was back and forth on whether or not to do these but was really happy I did. They turned out very well and display my work better than I thought.
…and last are my portfolios. The black one is my design portfolio and the gray is my photography. I am very happy with these both and can’t wait to show them off.
I chose to put my face on the leave-behind and business cards as a marketing strategy. It’s not my full face and I tried to make it as abstract as possible so whoever was looking at it would have to double take. I want to make sure that people who might hire me remember not only my name, but what I look like.
Let me know what you think! I’m always open for suggestions!
I’m working on a concept cell phone for my illustration project. This is what I have so far…
Starting with the 4th of July, I did a whole lotta nothing and LOVED it. I could’ve used the extra day to do some homework ahead of time but I haven’t had a day without school, homework or work for a long time so it was nice. I actually went down to the Fireworks here in Poulsbo on the third and shot fireworks for my first time. It was really cool and found that after the first couple shots, it wasn’t hard at all. Next time I’ll have to play around with longer exposure times although I was still happy with a few of the shots.
A few weeks ago I went over to Seattle and wanted to get some new pictures of the space needle and night shots of Seattle and not thinking much about it, stumbled over the every square inch of Michael Jackson tributes that people scribbled on the walkway outside the Seattle Music Project. It was just a couple days after he passed away and so it was very cool to see, although I wasn’t much a fan, things like that you don’t see every day.
Last, I just finished up a brochure and poster for typography. The theme was Why Worms…set up for King county, kinda strange I know but I thought it turned out okay. I’m looking forward to my next illustration project. I plan on creating mock-ups of a Cell Phone idea I’ve had and creat a poster for it. Once that gets done I’ll make sure to post it.
For Illustration, I wanted to do a more simple design for the second letting the colors create the feel of the poster. I think it turned out OK.
I finished the first part of a long semester long project that I am doing for my Illustration class. I decided to do a series of ads for an airline, MigrateAirways, which I made up. This is the first poster I made…I pretty happy with it. Next up is a magazine spread.
I’ve been playing around with my camera, taking pictures of all sorts of things…lately I’ve taken a lot of flower pictures…probably because of the fact, this time of year they’ve got a lot of color and make great pictures!
This one is outside my door
This one was taken in Bremerton
This one was also taken in Bremerton
Here is my finished coffee logo. I chose to go with the street sign because I felt it best illustrated the message of Espress Way.
